Hospital Medical Coder ~ EXP REQ!
TX only (30 miles within Arlington, TX)
**Remote Position ~ You MUST have your own equipment**
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years inpatient hospital coding experience
• Certified RHIT, RHIA, CCS, AHIMA or AAPC credential required
• Strong understanding of MS-DRG and APR-DRG methodologies
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Experience with large health system coding environments
• Prior use of virtual training platforms for onboarding
• Knowledge of quality auditing or compliance standards
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• $30/hr
• Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm (1-hour meal break)
• W2, Possible Temp-to-Hire

ROLE IMPACT
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assigns accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient encounters based on medical record documentation
• Reviews clinical documentation to ensure coding reflects diagnoses and procedures performed
• Ensures compliance with federal coding guidelines, client-specific policies, and DRG assignment rules
• Works collaboratively with coding team and clinical staff for query resolution
• Utilizes EPIC and Optum platforms to complete coding tasks efficiently

• Coding reference tools (e.g., Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant)
