Warehouse Supervisor Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring safety, organization, and productivity targets are consistently met.
• Lead, coach, and motivate a diverse team of warehouse associates to achieve set goals.
• Coordinate receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping of goods in accordance with company standards.
• Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies.
• Ensure all warehouse and equipment maintenance protocols and safety procedures are followed.
• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and tools to optimize workflow and track performance metrics.
• Collaborate with purchasing, logistics, and operations teams to support order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and cost efficiency.
• Train new team members and provide ongoing guidance and development for staff.
• Complete required reporting and documentation promptly and accurately.

Skills and Qualifications Sought in a Warehouse Supervisor

• Proven experience in warehouse supervision, logistics, or inventory control.
• Strong leadership abilities—able to set direction and inspire results from team members.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfort working with warehouse management systems and productivity software.
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse environment.
• Customer-focused approach with a commitment to operational excellence.

Education and Experience Requirements for Warehouse Supervisor Roles

• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or higher is a plus.
• Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience in a warehouse or logistics role preferred.
• Experience with ERP and WMS platforms beneficial.
• Forklift certification is a plus but not required.
