Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Marine Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of various marine systems, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment on boats and vessels. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair marine engines, propulsion systems, steering systems, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical components.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on vessels in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
• Install and calibrate marine electronics such as GPS, radar, sonar, and communication systems.
• Maintain accurate service records and logs for repairs and inspections.
• Operate diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and vessel crews to ensure safe and reliable vessel operation.
• Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
• Assist in sea trials and testing of repaired or newly installed systems.
• Provide on-call support or emergency repair services as needed.

  Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in marine technology, diesel mechanics, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a marine technician or mechanic (2+ years preferred).
• Strong knowledge of marine diesel and gas engines, electrical systems, and onboard mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with diagnostic software and electronic testing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver’s license; boating license and/or certifications (e.g., ABYC, NMEA) a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various outdoor/marine environments.

  Work Environment:

• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, including in marinas, shipyards, and onboard vessels.
• May involve climbing ladders, crawling into confined spaces, and exposure to weather, noise, and marine hazards.
