We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Tucson, Arizona. This role involves managing various HR functions, including employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws. The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of technical HR expertise and interpersonal skills to support organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee HR operations such as onboarding, background checks, and employee relations to ensure smooth processes.
- Administer compensation and benefits programs, including analysis and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Maintain and manage HRIS systems and payroll platforms to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
- Provide guidance on employment laws and regulations, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local requirements.
- Support organizational initiatives by implementing HR policies and procedures aligned with company objectives.
- Supervise staff and promote a productive work environment while fostering employee development.
- Coordinate and attend department meetings to align HR strategies with organizational goals.
- Participate in recruitment efforts, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring for corporate and executive roles.
- Promote workplace safety and security by following best practices and maintaining compliance.
- Develop and execute department projects to support operational efficiency and employee satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or equivalent education and experience.
- Certification in Human Resources such as PHR or SHRM-CP is preferred.
- Knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, and OSHA compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with HRIS systems and payroll platforms such as Paycom.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data and resolve issues effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and present information clearly.
- Ability to adapt to changes, manage competing priorities, and work independently in a remote environment.
- Valid Arizona driver's license and eligibility to obtain a Level One fingerprint card.
