We are hiring for a Georgia-certified Early Intervention Program (EIP) Teacher to support our students in mastering foundational academic skills and thriving in a whole-child, inclusive, and culturally responsive Montessori environment.

Role Summary and Information 

The EIP teacher at Sankofa Montessori is a full-time instructional leader responsible for providing targeted, data-driven interventions to students performing below grade level in reading and/or math. Using a pull-out model, the teacher will provide direct small group instruction aligned with evidence-based practice. This role requires deep collaboration with general education teachers, families, student support teams, and active participation in the broader school community.

Requirements

Planning and Instruction

  • Prepare a highly structured and rich instructional environment aligned with EIP requirements.
  • Provide pull-out intervention lessons in math and/or reading, using data-driven strategies tailored to student needs.
  • Submit weekly individual student lesson plans for feedback and incorporate revisions.
  • Conduct and document frequent student observations and formative assessments to inform instruction.
  • Record daily notes and assessment data using school-approved tools.
  • Create, implement, and document MTSS plans based on student performance and behavior.
  • Participate in Student Support Team Meetings and contribute data and intervention updates.

Classroom Culture

  • Foster habits of excellence, order, and grace & courtesy through classroom rituals and modeling.
  • Build student independence, confidence, and ownership over learning.
  • Supervise students during classroom and non-classroom periods, including lunch, recess, and field trips.
  • Share responsibility for supporting the behavioral and emotional well-being of all children.

Family Communication

  • Lead classroom-level communication with families, including regular updates on student progress.
  • Host classroom family meetings and maintain strong, responsive relationships with caregivers.
  • Prepare progress reports and report cards. 
  • Maintain open, two-way communication channels with families of all EIP students.

Data & Accountability

  • Enter student attendance, interventions, and performance data in Infinite Campus (SIS) accurately and on time.
  • Input grades aligned with school timelines and grading policy.
  • Maintain updated student records and contribute to school-wide data analysis.

Professional Development and Collaboration

  • Actively participate in professional development, coaching sessions, teacher meetings, and planning.
  • Collaborate weekly with classroom teachers and support staff.

Other Responsibilities

  • Support and attend periodic school events that occur outside regular hours.
  • Demonstrate warm, firm leadership and uphold school values in all interactions.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned to support school operations and student success.

QUALIFICATIONS

For this position, we’re looking for candidates that possess a combination of the following skills:

Certification & Experience

  • Georgia Teaching Certification in Elementary Education (required)
  • EIP endorsement or demonstrated experience with pull-out academic intervention
  • Minimum 3 years of effective teaching experience, preferably in diverse or Title I settings
  • Experience with entering grades and student data into a Student Information System (Infinite Campus preferred)

Instructional Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of the MTSS framework, progress monitoring, and small group instruction
  • Proficient in designing and implementing instructional strategies that lead to student achievement
  • Experience using assessment data to adjust instruction and drive growth

Benefits

COMPENSATION

  • Sankofa Montessori’s compensation philosophy is to pay competitively for the PK-12 charter market to ensure equity across our institution. The starting salary for this role is $45,000-$60,000 annually, based on years of experience and degree held. Sankofa Montessori is committed to internal pay equity throughout our organization. Because of this, we do not negotiate salary offers outside our salary bands.
  • We offer contributions to the Teacher Retirement System of Georgia (TRS) in accordance with Georgia state law, as well as an additional, optional 403(b) retirement account.
